Emcee of the day!

Lucky me, I got to be the emcee for the Pre Teen Miss Maryland, DC, and Delaware United States Pageant.

Self Magazine Workout in the Park

Saturday, May 11th, I alongside the three DC titleholders and two of the New York title holders participated in the Self Magazine Workout in the Park event at Central Park in New York City. The day consisted of workouts lead by famous fitness and dance instructors along with many vendors partnering with the event that gave out a bunch of freebies! We had an awesome time and were super sore the next morning!

Walter Reed Medical Center Visit.

Miss Capital City United States, Candiace Dillard and Ms. Maryland United States, Sarah Christian and I had the privilege to provide food to the wounded warriors at Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland. It was great meeting our brave war heroes who have served us in combat.

The Volunteer Director emailed our state director and stated the following about us: "Ciera and Candiace were GREAT. They were fun, energetic and enthusiastic and both are drop dead gorgeous.... but more importantly their hearts are just perfect for what we do. They volunteered to take meals to rooms for patients and the head of Psychiatry asked them to help him take meals to a different floor of the hospital.... they got to see what we do and they brought a lot of laughter to the event."

Miss District of Columbia United States Boot Camp

Sunday, April 14th, the beautiful ladies of the Miss Maryland, Miss District of Columbia, and Miss Delaware Organization held a boot camp for contestants competing in the upcoming Miss District of Columbia and Miss Delaware United States pageant! So much fun cant wait for the competition!

Co-Hosting on PageantLIVE

Check me out as I was a guest co-host on PageantLIVE! Tonight's show featured myself, my director, Miss Teen Maryland United States 2013, Miss Ohio United States 2013, Ms. District of Columbia United States and Miss United States 2012 All World Beauties.
The ladies and I discussed three topics such as pageant fears, anti-pageantry opinions and why we decided to represent the Miss United States Organization.
It was such a great show and I had a great time hosting. Thanks to the lovely Pamela Privette for having us all on the show, it was such a great experience!

Career Day at St. Francis Academy

Wednesday, March 27, 2013, I participated in Career Day at St. Francis Academy.

Established in 1828, St. Frances Academy is an independent, co-ed, Catholic high school with African American and Hispanic roots. St. Frances Academy serves as an agent of positive change within its inner-city neighborhood. The school currently has about 200 students. My portion of Career Day consisted of explaining the proper attire in business professional setting as well as encouraging the students to continue working hard in all of their future endeavors. I spoke to all four grade levels of students, freshmen up to seniors. It was such a great experience and I had a great time with them all! Below are photos the students and I took that I found on their Instagram accounts!

Volunteering at Happy Helpers for the Homeless

Today, Two friends and I volunteered at Our Daily Bread in Baltimore, Maryland with the Happy Helpers for the Homeless, and what an experience it was! This was my second time working with Happy Helpers and it humbles me every time. You never know how fortunate you are until you see people appreciate the little things that you take for granted.

Our daily Bread consisted of providing clothing, food, toys, and Easter goodies for the kids. Happy Helpers for the Homeless meets every Sunday at 2pm at our Daily Bread. Our Daily Bread is located at 725 Fallsway in downtown Baltimore.

As a state title holder, we have been encouraged to inquire donations from family, friends, and community
businesses and leaders to meet ﬁnancial obligation and build communication skills.

As a sponsor, you will
play an important part in helping me reach my goals in competing for Miss United States 2013. Any

four-day, three-night program and competition.

Fashion Law Week Intelligent Design Runway Show

On Friday, March 1st, I made an appearance and modeled in the Fashion Law Week Intelligent Design Runway show at the new Union Market in Washington, D.C. The event was great and I had a nice time. Proceeds from the event were given to the Uganda Project!

Designers in the runway show were: Rue 114, Gwen Beloti, Selly Raby Kane, Bucolic, and JEM.

Meet Ciera

Ciera Nicole is an American Beauty Pageant title holder, who competed for both, Miss USA 2014, and Miss United States 2013, representing the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland. Ciera is an actress and reality television personality.

Early Life…

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Ciera attended Baltimore City College High School. As a teen, Ciera became passionate about modeling, which motivated her to become involved in the fashion and entertainment industries.

In an effort to serve the community, Ciera served as President of a community-based modeling organization called Elite Icons. As President, Ciera and her team coordinated annual fashion shows, which served as esteem building activities and productive work areas to keep teens away from inner city violence.

Ciera began her undergraduate studies at Marymount University in Arlington, VAwhere she earned a dual Bachelors Degree studying communications and fashion merchandising with a focus in public relations. While at Marymount, Ciera was heavily involved in a number of organizations, including The L.I.S.T. (Ladies Inspiring Strength for Tomorrow), which Ciera established and served as President and Vice President, the Head of Public Relations for the Marymount University Fashion Department, and a member of the Black Student Alliance.

Ciera was also able to gain hands on experience working as an event assistant for various organizations and brands such as: Men Against Breast Cancer, Becky's Fund, Luke's Wings, Key to the Cure, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Isaac Mizrahi, Christian Siriano, Lela Rose, Neiman Marcus, The Washington Humane Society, Chic Communications, The Aba Agency, Saks Fifth Avenue and more.

In the spring of 2012, Ciera produced the fourth annual Voyage to Utopia fashion show which was the first year that established the Voyage to Utopia Scholarship Fund and supported the KaKenya's Dream Foundation.

Following her undergraduate career, Ciera was employed by IMG and ROCHE in New York City as the Public Relations and Marketing Intern for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and Production Coordinator for New York Fashion Shows.

Recently…

Upon returning to the D.C. and Maryland area, Ciera competed for and won the titles of Miss Maryland United States 2013 and Miss District of Columbia USA 2014. Within those two years, Ciera used her titles to empower inner city youth in D.C. and Maryland to continue their ambitions. She represented Maryland in the 2013 Miss United States pageant and she represented D.C. in the 2014 Miss USA pageant.

After crowing her successor, Ciera has made appearances as an actress on several television series such as, House of Cards, Survivor's Remorse & more to name.

Ciera starred on and won Oxygen's reality competition series, Last Squad Standing. Now, Ciera is an actress and student at The Barrow Group Theater Company and School in New York City. She currently travels between New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, North Carolina and Washington, D.C. for on screen projects.
